Multi CH Ruskahallan Duggolas of TabanyaRuu

It’s hard to find the words to describe Ruska. We always say she broke the mould. There will never be another dog like her. 

Ruska arrived in the UK from Norway, after Liz Mowatt of Tabanyaruu had the opportunity to import her. I was on the waiting list for a puppy from her, but she approached me about a co-ownership agreement for Ruska. 

I said yes. 

My life changed. 

Ruska loved food more than anything else. Okay, perhaps not a fresh squirrel or deer trail, but once the scent had become old enough she’d hurry straight back to me for a treat. 

She was the perfect dog sports partner. Canicross became our regular Saturday morning activity, and she achieved multiple placings at Rally competitions. 

A snuggler to the core, she’d tap you on the arm if you stopped stroking her, and barked if you dared shut her out of a room. 

Ruska lived until the great age of 15 and a quarter, but she is missed every single day. Her legacy lives on, but she will always be my heart dog.
